State and Federal Government Collaborations:
To accomplish the objectives outlined in The ReEmpoweringAmerica Plan (REAP), The Institute is working in close collaboration with Governors and their energy advisors and sub-committees in key states that have demonstrated a strong commitment to developing alternative energy initiatives. Conversations are already underway in New Mexico, Arizona, California, Michigan, Utah, Oregon and Colorado, and will soon be expanded to a number of other states. This state partnership plan is designed to create a series of ‘energy summits’ with government representatives and key industry stakeholders whose products and services are critical to the execution of effective alternative energy plans. The Institute is also working with members of our Federal Government to ensure a national rollout of REAP.
State Pilot Programs: The Institute, working in close collaboration with the state governments and key industry stakeholders, will encourage the execution of at least one, and perhaps multiple, transportation state pilots. The specific elements identified within REAP will be tested and refined on privately owned cars, light trucks as well as on state, Federal and privately owned fleets. In addition, these state pilots will give the key industry stakeholders the opportunity to test their strategies on key components including the delivery of natural gas (NG) to pumping stations, the upgrading and new construction of parts of the infrastructure, and the establishment of test metrics essential to verifying the results.
Regional and National Public Information Programs: The Institute will launch a comprehensive public education program that will inform, inspire and motivate individuals and the organizations they are affiliated with regarding the specific advantages of NG dual-fuel cars and trucks. This education program will involve public service campaigns (PSA’s) - television, radio and internet spots featuring major scientists and experts, as well as celebrities and other notables. In addition, the Institute will host a series of public conferences and product/services exhibitions in major cities across the country that will feature thought-leaders and authors, interactive Q&A panels, films and major exhibitions of all of the products and services from related industries. Finally, the Institute will create a series of informative and entertaining television and internet specials, books and CD and DVD programs.
Strategic Summits: The Institute, both independently and in collaboration with governments and organizations in the private sector, will host a series of private dialogues and summits with leaders from various state and municipal governments, with key regional industry stakeholders, private organizations, associations and other groups interested in better understanding the transportation energy sector and the alternate strategies available.
Consulting Services: The Institute has a world-class team of strategic consultants who will assist organizations in the public and private sector to understand, integrate and execute The ReEmpoweringAmerica Plan into their long term sustainability plans. This unique team is comprised of highly credentialed individuals who are experts in strategic planning, energy management, organizational and team development and the environmental sciences. The team is supported by a broad range of advisors from the scientific and academic communities and is available for the delivery of services ranging from overview and analysis of primary needs to long term, on-site integration.
Research and Development: An important part of the Institute’s mission is to continue to refine and expand the impact of REAP and to explore and expand the boundaries of current science and research in a wide range of related fields. To this end, the Institute, working alone and in close collaboration with well-known universities, research companies and laboratories, will seed, support and execute a number of programs and projects that will advance our ability to better understand and maximize the use of energy for a sane and sustainable world.
Licensing: The Institute will license its current and future proprietary systems and developments to organizations in both the private and public sectors.
Training: In conjunction with its consulting services, the Institute will present a wide range of training programs designed to assist stakeholders at all of the levels required to execute REAP with the kinds of comprehensive training programs they need.
Web Based Communications: The Institute is currently creating a 2.0 interactive web portal to serve as the hub through which people can collaborate and interact, participate in webinars and web-TV, receive newsletters, participate in blogs, learn about the latest developments in the field, listen to interviews and watch pre-recorded videos of Institute conferences and other relevant programs. Special member services and support will also be provided.
